We were told by the previous owner of the Corsair that the hydraulic system was all intact and would work. We were a bit skeptical after seeing the condition the plane was in when it arrived. We decided to put the aircraft on jacks and see if the systems would really work. We put hydraulic pressure on the system and low and behold it worked. We had many major leaks in the system but all the actuators seemed to go the right direction and work properly. The only snag we found was that the tail wheel retract cylinder was plumbed backwards. When the main gear went up the tail came down and vice versa. That will be an easy one to remedy.
